1966 and all that

Performance Dates 9th and 10 June

Written by Tony Long

Co-Directed by Bernadette Tildesley

If a show makes you leave tapping your toes and wishing you could sing, then it’s a job well done. ’1966 And All That’, WAS all that…and more!  Thame Players transported us back to the swinging sixties in style (and occasionally in drag!) when men were mods and skirts were minis.

Tony Long and Bernadette Tildesley superbly managed the ever-growing cast of players with vocal talent, singing pop songs of the day and medleys from the musicals people flocked to see.   It all gelled together with informative and witty narration bringing us the news and events of the day.  Special mention must be made of Susannah Fellows who did a fantastic job with the choreography and to Steve Bannister who worked his magic with the music.  All in all, a fun show that was superbly timed to reignite patriotism for our boys out in Germany after reliving the glorious 1966 World Cup win ( which I am sure many of us are too young to remember, or too old to remember anything!)

Just one question though to wardrobe…where on earth did you get tights big enough to fit Mike Rochford?
