Who are we ?

Thame Players is a vibrant theatre group with over 150 Members, founded over 60 years ago and presenting a wide variety of quality productions ever since: from Shakespeare to pantomime, musicals to high drama. We run five productions a year, more than any other non-professional group in the area.

Thame Players also run a thriving youth theatre - Thame Young Players (TYPs), for aspiring thespians from 6 to 16 years of age. TYPs run their own productions and often participate in Thame Player's productions, especially pantomime.

Thame Players acquired a 50 year lease on the church hall in Nelson Street in 1977 and began the work of transforming it into the Players Theatre. St Mary's Church, Thame, agreed to sell the freehold to Thame Players in 1996 and purchase was completed on 28th February, 1997

The ideal location of the Players Theatre - near to the High Street and car parking facilities - makes its development highly desirable. The transformation of the building into a much more comfortable theatre was completed in October 2002. The theatre now includes a high standard of amenities for the audience, facilities for the disabled as well as stage and technical facilities to rival many professional theatres.
