Review of 'Dick Whittington', performed by
Thame Players

OPENING with a flash and a very
loud bang for the entrance of
the baddie Queen Rat, the Thame
Players had the audience on the
edge of their seats awaiting the
action.
With some strong principals too
numerous to mention, the superb
sound and a theatrical storm all
added to the atmosphere and the ultra-violet
scene under the sea was
extremely effective.
There were the two comic
characters Captain Cod and
Barnacle Bill together with a
very lively Idle Jack, and the
usual pantomime dame, beautiful
costumes, harmonious singing and
some very talented members who
took on the roles of Londoners,
rats, dream people, sailors,
fish and a Magic Cat you have
the makings of a festive
pantomime.
The
Thame Players pantomime is
always so popular that it was
difficult to get seats!
